🐞 Where Joy Finds Form
8 x 8 inches (20.3 x 20.3 cm)
Where Joy Finds Form is a one-of-a-kind textile artwork created through a quiet collaboration across time.
At the center of this piece is a hand-appliquéd floral composition, carefully formed by my mother, an accomplished textile artist. Each petal was individually cut and placed by her hand, creating a foundation rooted in care, patience, and intention.
After her passing, I completed the piece—mounting it on a cradled birch panel and building outward with layered fabric, beadwork, and crystal accents. A small ladybug rests within the composition, adding a quiet moment of life and a sense of gentle movement.
There is a lightness here—of warmth, presence, and small details that invite a closer look. The textures catch light softly, while the layered elements create depth without overwhelming the calm nature of the piece.
Part of the Inherited Blooms collection, this work reflects a shared creative language—her hand and mine, brought together in a single, finished expression.
